Staking (bastard 10-255 character limit again, ridic imo)

Im looking to get into staking. Has anyone done it? If so, give me advice please. How do you set up the deals? 50/50 with 50/50 on rakeback and makeback if they lose? What time period is it standard to be doing it over? Also, if you know anyone who is good at poker and wants uNL/SSNL stakes lmk.

I think you'd probably know if any of us had been staked previously.

I have only had info about tournament staking and in that case it was usually 50/50 or 60/40 dependent upon the individuals records (pt files showing profitability) i think generally the more ability the guy has then he should be able to command slightly more.

Also in the staking deal, the rb was 100% to the player, not the backer. And makeup was just that - simply the amount they have cost you. The player can't start making profit until you do too.

If you had asked me about a month ago pecks I would have bitten your hand off. I think I show enough profitability to be a good candidate for backing.

He's got a ~2k roll already. Probs no point staking unless Pecks is gonna ship him straight to 1/2 or something. If you had the option of being staked or playing you're own money - if you're half good then you're playing with your own money everytime because you don't have to split your money.

I think Luke G would probably make more money playing 0.5/1 playing his own money in the easier games, than playing tough games at 1/2 and splitting profits.

yeh but surely Luke G is never going to get that much better by doing it on his own. Obv Pecks is a sick man and can teach him new stuff while staking. Or he'd have to get lessons and stuff by a 3rd party who's obv no where near pecks' level. Pecks btw you can teach me and take 100% of profit till i pay u back and 50%. Just a thought.
